Ghost Light Theatricals Presents THE GREY GOLEM Image

THE GREY GOLEM is a new play written by Ghost Light's own Asa Fager and directed by local artist Dani Dodge. Taking shots at the cliches of heroism, the culture of comic fandom, and even comics legends like Frank Miller and Alan Moore, THE GREY GOLEM is a hilarious hit job on the American comic book industry and the superhero industrial complex.

Years ago the world's greatest superhero, the Grey Golem, went into retirement believing he had finally rid his city of crime, once and for all. But when his butler is mysteriously murdered, the Golem once again dons the cape and cowl only to discover that the job of a superhero is much more complicated than he remembers. Inspired by the darker corners of the Batman mythos and the seemingly omnipresent superhero movies of current pop culture, THE GREY GOLEM is truly a comedy of our time.

"This show is everything I want good theater to be," says playwright Asa Fager. "Fast paced, super silly, and less than two hours long. And that includes intermission!" Director Dani Dodge couldn't agree more: "This play is ridiculously funny and probably has the best cast I've ever worked with. I love superheroes and comic books, but I think I like making fun of them even more!"

THE GREY GOLEM opens Friday, April 13 and runs until Saturday May 5. Performances are Thursday thru Saturday evenings at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 22 at 2pm.
