Fundraiser Announced For Families Of El Paso Shooting Victims Image

Copious Love Productions is thrilled to partner with local artist/activists Ana Maria Campoy and Sofía Raquel Sánchez to produce two play readings of Just Like Us by Karen Zacharias at Solo Bar Monday September 9th and Copious Wednesday September 11th.

Both of these events will include live music and performance beforehand, and a conversation with local activists after the play reading. All donations and ticket sales will go to the El Paso Community Fund. These readings feature two separate casts of local Latinx actors.

These readings will be directed by Ana Maria Campoy. Campoy says, "Latinx people and immigrants have endured hateful political rhetoric, separation of families, the caging of children, and hate crimes at the hands of white supremacy and this administration. In response to the shooting in El Paso, the artistic Seattle community wants to hold space for our Latinx artists, uplift their community, show them support and love, and incite action in allies. The event will fundraise money for El Paso, while having a conversation about how the Seattle community can advocate, protect, and better support the city's immigrant and Latinx community."
