DangerSwitch's INTO THE DEEPS to Premiere at Theatre Off Jackson

DangerSwitch, Seattle's wildest physical theatre ensemble, launches Into the Deeps, premiering at Theatre Off Jackson June 8-17.

DangerSwitch! merges dance, theatre, clown, and transformative design with their special blend of macabre hilarity to tell the story of the rise and fall of aquatic society. Into the Deeps, produced in association with Theatre Off Jackson, will explore the ocean as a platform to investigate how political and social structures manifest in a hilarious, bizarre, and gut-wrenching visual spectacle.

This original piece is entirely movement-based and was generated by the performing ensemble with co-directors/choreographers Eddie DeHais (Annex Theatre's Scary Mary and the Nightmares Nine, DangerSwitch's BIG BAD, Mad Scientist Cabaret) and Alyza DelPan-Monley (Seattle International Dance Festival, Washington Ensemble's Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again.)

Into the Deeps has a cast of nine incredible performers from both the dance and theatre communities such as Lauren Linder (Petra Zanki's 365), Joe Cummings (WET's Revolt. She said. Revolt Again), and Sabina Moe (Alice Gosti's Bodies of Water), and includes DangerSwitch! members Jordan Moeller, Jackie Miedema, and Jessica Stepka.

Design talents includes local favorites Emily Leong (Café Nordo's Dragon Lady), Dana Amromin (Sound Theatre's Nadeshiko), and Fantasia Oslund (Annex Theatre's Scary Mary and the Nightmares Nine).

Into the Deeps performs June 8 through June 17th, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm. Industry night is on Monday, June 12 at 8pm. Tickets are $15-$25. Thursday, June 15th is Artist Benefit Night. For tickets, go here.
