Did you know? Fr. William Treacy was born in Ireland in 1919 and moved to Seattle in the 1940s to serve as a parish priest. In 1960, he became the Catholic representative on the interfaith television program, â?oChallenge,â? which aired for 14 years on KOMO-TV. Through the program, Fr. Treacy and the Jewish representative, Rabbi Raphael Levine, became friends and together wrote a book about their relationship. The two founded Camp Brotherhood outside Mount Vernon, a 200-acre â?ofamily friendlyâ? retreat where people from different faiths and ethnic backgrounds learn from one another. Fr. Treacy still serves on its Board of Directors.
