She was the world's beloved Princess Leia in Star Wars, a daughter born to celebrity parents, and the wife of a famous musician. She could also have taken the title of "walking controversy," thanks largely to her partying past. This spring, iconic actress Carrie Fisher brings her dynamic spirit and real-life tale to Seattle Repertory Theatre as it presents Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking April 2 through May 3 at its Bagley Wright Theatre.

Wishful Drinking is Fisher's personal tell-all, from playing Princess Leia, to growing up with famous parents Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, to marrying and divorcing Paul Simon among other forays into her riveting, multi-dimensional life.

Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking is directed by the renowned Tony Taccone and co-produced by Jonathan Reinis Productions and Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Tickets to Wishful Drinking are now on sale and range from $20-$75. Anyone 25 and under may purchase tickets for only $15 for any performance (with ID - call for details). Discounted tickets for groups of ten or more may be purchased by calling 206-443-2224. Performances of Wishful Drinking are at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sundays. There is an audio-described performance on Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. and an American Sign Language (ASL)-interpreted performance on Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. Seattle Repertory Theatre is located at Seattle Center at the corner of Second Ave. and Mercer St., Seattle, Washington. For ticket reservations, call the Seattle Repertory Theatre box office seven days a week at 206-443-2222 or toll-free at 877-900-9285, or go online at www.seattlerep.org.

"We're thrilled to present Carrie Fisher performing her enthralling story on our stage," says Benjamin Moore, Manager Director at Seattle Repertory Theatre. "Wishful Drinking's whip smart levity, delivered firsthand by the woman who lived this colorful life, is not to be missed.

April 9 special event: A Conversation with Carrie Fisher

Thursday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bagley Wright Theatre, take advantage of a special, unscripted opportunity to hear directly from Ms. Fisher about her life and writing Wishful Drinking, along with a brief, interactive question and answer session. This 45-minute event is free to Seattle Repertory Theatre subscribers and donors. Tickets will go on sale to the general public tomorrow (March 26) for $10 each. Reserve your tickets by directly calling Box Office at 206-443-2222.

Carrie Fisher is The Life of the party in Wishful Drinking. Onstage, she recounts her true and intoxicating story with the same strong, wry wit that she poured into bestsellers like Postcards from the Edge. Despite Star Wars fame and a celebrity life, her story isn't all sweetness and light sabers. As a single mom, she also battles addiction, depression, mental institutions, and that awful hyperspace hairdo. It's a hilarious take on an incredible tale - from having ElizaBeth Taylor as a stepmother, to wedding (and shedding) Paul Simon, from having the father of her baby leave her for a man, to waking up one morning and finding a friend dead beside her in bed. Don't miss this outrageous chance to get ‘Carried' away!
