CELEBRATE, ESE! Marks eSe Teatro's 2-Year Anniversary, 5/5

By:

Celebrate, eSe! combines theatre and celebration in honor of eSe Teatro's 2-year anniversary. Performances will include a theatrical Mission Statement interpretation, sneak-peek readings of 2012 Season productions including the Glickman Award-winning play Oedipus el Rey by Luis Alfaro (December 2012) and works-in-progress by eSe members, as well as a rare zapateo performance by master dancer and choreographer Lucho Sandoval (Peru).

The staged performances will be followed by a reception and a moderated talk-back session allowing for a discussion between theatre patrons and eSe members to explore future programming and community-building efforts. This is a great opportunity to learn more about eSe Teatro and see what's in store for the rest of the year. Celebrate, eSe! is presented in part by The Central Heating Lab at ACT.

Celebrate, eSe!, Produced by Nilki Benitez and Colette Cosner plays May 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $15 ($10 students/seniors), $5 Teens, included with the ACTPass. Call the ticket office, located at 700 Union Street, Seattle, Wa., at (206) 292-7676 or go online at http://www.acttheatre.org/Tickets/OnStage/CelebrateeSe.

eSe Teatro is a collective of professionally trained theatre artists residing in the greater Seattle area, working to promote diversity in the Seattle art scene. Through our mission of "Empowering Latino artists to create, produce and present bilingual, Spanglish and Spanish-speaking theatre" we actively build partnerships with under-served populations in our community thru art, and provide a sense of home and place for other Latino theatre and artists. eSe Teatro is an Associated Program of Shunpike.

Located in the heart of downtown Seattle and serving a population of curious, open-minded, and brave audiences, ACT - A Contemporary Theatre is the only theatre in Seattle dedicated to producing contemporary work with promising playwrights and local performing artists since 1965. A theatre of new ideas, ACT serves as a cultural engine that makes plays, dance, music, and film that touch us.
