BPA Gallery November First Friday Art Walk: “Performers”

By: Oct. 01, 2018

Join the BPA Gallery November 2 for an artist reception and an enjoyable evening of art and friends, with an exhibit of watercolors, ink, and chalk on watercolor paper, Yupo paper, and print paper.

As an enthusiastic Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra attendee, John Wiens has been fascinated by the movement of the conductor, the instruments, and the music. Through sketches and photos, he attempted to capture the drama of performance. He is also mesmerized by tango dancers, whose movements are dramatic and filled with emotion.

This exhibit includes fifteen art pieces, six featuring performers from the BSO, five showcasing tango dancers, and a four-panel piece portraying the lyrical nature of symphonic music. This exhibit continues throughout November at Bainbridge Performing Arts.

The BPA Gallery showcases regional artists in monthly rotating exhibits in the C. Keith Birkenfeld Lobby and regularly participates in the First Friday Art Walk from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Gallery hours are 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday - Friday plus one hour prior to each performance. Admission is free, and information is available online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206.842.8569 or in person at BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island.

BPA is supported, in part, by Bainbridge Community Foundation, the City of Bainbridge Island, and One Call for All. Find out more about BPA at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org.
