Annex Theatre to Present THE SINGING REVOLUTION: CHORAL SONGS FROM THE BALTIC Tonight!
By: Ashlee Latimer
On Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7:30pm, The Mägi Ensemble, a women's chamber vocal ensemble that sings music from the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, will present an evening of choral music.
The Baltic region used song to stand up against the Soviet regime during theCold War, and this performance will showcase some of those pieces as well as newer compositions. With the result of the 2016 election, the security of the Baltic States
is now less stable because of Trump's tepid relationship with NATO and his dubious connections with Putin. The Mägi Ensemble: Heather MacLaughlin Garbes, Monica Armstrong, Jennifer Bertelsen, Megan Gardner, Stacy Justino, Julie Parsons, Chelsea Walker, Trina Wright
