The innovative Central Heating Lab initiative, which launched at the beginning of ACT's 2008 season, is thrilled to announce a four-part comedy series to take place on consecutive Sunday evenings in the month of May in the Bullitt Cabaret space. The Comedy Cornucopia series falls under the "Long Term Project" category of The Central Heating Lab and includes many of Seattle's funniest standup comedians, short filmmakers, and performance artists. Comedy Cornucopia is one of the countless activities exploding out of ACT that opens doors for artists and inches the organization one step closer to its mission to become a true art center. Justin Freet, a collaborative partner for RAWSTOCK, explains how the Central Heating Lab is crucial to his development as an artist, "In any artistic community, there inevitably manifests a struggle between following your muse and settling into established formulas that feel 'safe'. The Central Heating Lab provides an eclectic mix of collaborative partners and also allows us as artists to feed the muse; to not just allow, but encourage fringe filmmakers, dancers and actors to get gonzo."
Tickets for the Comedy Cornucopia series are available at the ACT Ticket Office, 700 Union Street, Downtown Seattle, (206) 292-7676 or online at www.acttheatre.org.

The Comedy Cornucopia I
RAWSTOCK: It's a Quatro De Mayo celebration as RAWSTOCK ushers in May with an evening of boundary-smashing comedy courtesy of filmmakers Mitch Magee (Mr. Glasses), Christopher Hilleke, Team Juicebox and Darrius Schieder. Top Seattle comedians Scarecrow and Mr.Voight, Kevin Hyder and David Cope will present comedy so infectious, you'll want to apply antibacterial ointment immediately.
Date: May 4 at 8:00 PM (21+ event)
Doors Open: 7:30, Drinks Available
Location: Bullitt Cabaret

The Comedy Cornucopia II
Miss Mamie vs. Golden Robot Army: A nighttime battle of musical madness—watch them "duke it out!" It's impossible to put either band in a box. Miss Mamie Lavona the Exotic Mulatta and her White Boy Band was once described as "jazz revivalist," but that statement was later revised to mean "the musical equivalent a burlesque dancer shimmying her hips." And the Golden Robot Army boasts the instrumentation of a traditional Irish or Roma band with the musical sense of a Seattle indie pop band; also described as "Pogues playing Cake songs." We give up. Come decide for yourself.
Date: May 11 at 8:00 PM (21+ event)

The Comedy Cornucopia III
Dart Mondo: Standup comedy and fast-paced improv collide in this alternative-absurdist-comedy-orgy. Talented local standup comedians Andy Peters and Emmett Montgomery deliver their short set, and then the quick-witted improv artists Dartanion London, Amanda Williams, Mike Murphy and Ian Schemp are let loose to interpret the set they have just seen.
Date: May 18 at 8:00 PM (21+ event)
Doors Open: 7:30, Drinks Available
Location: Bullitt Cabaret
Ticket Price: $10

The Comedy Cornucopia IV
Black Daisy: Seattle-based duo Cody Hurd and Troy Nelson deliver their extreme comedy skits and video shorts. Local standup comedians Billy Wayne Davis and Paul Merrill join in the evening's events and there is no telling how things will end up. We're curious, aren't you?
