The Pitch at Pleasance Courtyard, Baby Grand

The Pitch is a comedy-drama set in East Belfast following Robbie, a sports-mad local boy, Deren, a passionate GAA player, and Melissa, Robbie's younger sister, as tensions ignite over plans to transform their local field into a Gaelic football ground. Against the backdrop of a looming United Ireland referendum, the trio clashes over cultural identity, sport, and community. Written by Philip Catherwood and directed by Thea Mayeux, the production stars James Grimm as Robbie, Jake Douglas as Deren, and Dión Di Maio as Melissa. The show makes its Scottish premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026 as part of the Pleasance Edinburgh National Partnerships programme.
