Hysterical Soprano is a solo operatic comedy show written and performed by Georgina Thomas, one half of sketch duo Thick 'n' Fast, in her solo debut. Thomas, a classically trained coloratura soprano with credits including the BBC Proms and Alban the Opera, plays a character named Georgina who visits an Old Witch to become the greatest soprano in the world, only to spiral through delusion, existential crises, and vocal gymnastics while battling her arch nemesis Antonella. The show blends virtuosic classical singing with contemporary comedy and theatrical storytelling, exploring body image, identity, feminine perfection, and artistic obsession. Directed by Will Jackson, the production also features the voice of Saturday Night Live UK cast member Al Nash as Gary the Stage Manager.
