Glasgow International Comedy Festival Q&A: Sean McLoughlin

Tell us a bit about the show

It's a slightly updated show to the one I brought to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018. It's an hour of stand-up about time slipping away, technology, love and God. It's much funnier than I've just made it sound.

Top tips for anything else visitors should do while in Glasgow?

Unfortunately there is nothing else going on in Glasgow or the surrounding areas on the days my shows are on. It's a shame because it's a great city with amazing people but my show is the only event of any kind taking place on these dates.

Who would you recommend comes to see you at the festival?

I don't really have a 'demographic' so I'll just say anyone with half a brain cell and even a modicum of respect for stand-up comedy should get a kick out of it.

Who would you suggest maybe doesn't?

The Queen probably wouldn't enjoy it. Not that I stick it to her or anything, just doubt it's her thing. Soz Liz.

What sets your show apart from others in the programme?

I'm not really one to toot my own horn. There's plenty of talent going through Glasgow for the festival and most would provide you with a good time. All I'll say is Hail Mary is my best show and the venue I'm in for the festival is fantastic.

What's next for you after the Glasgow Comedy Festival?

Glasgow is the second stop on a nationwide tour of this show. Then I'm getting married in May. Christ I've got a wedding to pay for. Now that I think about it, the Queen probably would really love this show actually..
