CVNT to Return to Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August
Sophie Power's show, directed by Fabio Motta, will play Assembly George Square's The Box at the Fringe.
Sophie Power will present CVNT, a sex-positive reclamation of the female anatomy through clowning, confession and interactive games. Performances will run at Assembly George Square, The Box, 5 – 31 Aug 2026.
Taking to the stage dressed as a giant vulva, clown and improvisor Sophie Power blends bouffon-style clowning with physical theatre and unhinged interactive comedy to explore why feminine pleasure remains so confronting.CVNT transforms the theatre into a space for collective catharsis, healing, and reclamation through a mix of adult party games, musical singalongs, and confessions from the audience. Each night differs depending on viewer reactions and admissions, though the dismantling of bodily shame and the push to shed social anxieties remains the same. The result is a riotous, ever-evolving invitation to find liberation through radical vulnerability and shared laughter.
CVNT premiered at Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2024 and has since toured to Adelaide Fringe (2025 & 2026), Melbourne Comedy Fringe (2025 & 2026), Fringe World Perth (2026) and Edinburgh Festival Fringe (2025). Awards include Best Comedy at Melbourne Fringe as well as the Best Comedy Weekly Award and Hollywood Fringe Tour Ready Award.
Creator and performer Sophie Power said, “I can't wait to bring CVNT back to Edinburgh after award-winning sold-out return seasons in Adelaide and Perth Fringe, and a new run at Hollywood Fringe off the back of the Tour Ready Award! Bearing witness to people's greatest fears and eradicating sexual shame never gets old. I'm constantly blown away by people's response to our collective catharsis and also by what they choose to share on the stage - every night is completely different!”.
