After 35 years of serving the Central Coast of California with top-notch productions of great classic comedies, musicals and melodramas, The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville is getting a facelift!
Robertson & Robertson Remodeling Contractors out of Pismo Beach, CA began remodeling the Melodrama on January 3, 2011. Outdoor construction crews began laying concrete and building a new exterior wall for the new Melodrama face. The design will be a Western Saloon motif, which transports the guests back in time to the turn of the century.Indoor construction crews began gutting and reconstructing a brand new in-house snack bar, complete with new appliances, countertops, and fresh new paint colors where theatergoers can enjoy those Melodrama hotdogs, popcorn and other refreshments and drinks. This Thursday, January 13, at 8:30am, spectators can come see the remodel in action when the construction crew will crane the Melodrama wall from the parking lot to the front of the building."After 35 years of dedication from all our Melodrama patrons and fans we wanted to thank our supporters with a clean up and a facelift. Everyone who has lived here on the Central Coast deserves something new and fun to look at when they come to the Melodrama. We thank our fans for 35 years of love and support and we look forward to 35 more!" says Lynne Schlenker, owner of The Great American Melodrama.
