A MERRY-ACHI CHRISTMAS Crosses Cultures, Bringing a Mexican Holiday Celebration to The Granada Theatre

By:

The Granada Theatre's Holiday Spectacular continues on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 8:00pm with the colorfully festive performance, A Merry-Achi Christmas, from two-time Grammy Award nominated Mariachi Sol De México® de José Hernández! Crossing culture and genre categories this holiday season, The Granada Theatre Concert Series brings this vibrant holiday performance to the stage for all members of the Santa Barbara community to experience and enjoy.

A Merry-Achi Christmas is not your average holiday performance. Audience members can expect an exciting holiday celebration featuring festive merriment and seasonal songs all performed in the energetic style of traditional Mexican mariachi. Sol de México de José Hernández will headline the performance, accompanied by America's first all-female Grammy-nominated Mariachi, Reyna de Los Angeles.

Formed by Jóse Hernàndez in 1981, Sol de México® was created to reflect the vision of an inspiring, artistic mariachi ensemble. As true representatives of a treasured cultural heritage, Sol de México® are a cohesive, dynamic team who have accepted the vision to live on as the Nation's Premier Mariachi! Individually, each musical artist of Sol de México® brings a refined talent of expertise but together they are mesmerizing - animating the voice of their culture. To mirror the romance, serenity and cultural tradition, Sol de México® offers traditional mariachi sounds embellished with fresh contemporary passion and powerful new rhythms.

This program will be conducted in Spanish.

These sensational holiday performances are all part of the popular Granada Theatre Concert Series, sponsored by Montecito Bank & Trust.
