Broadway star and 13-time MAC Award winner Karen Mason returns to the historic Orinda Theatre with her brand new show, KANDER & EBB...AND ALL THAT JAZZ! As one of the original stars of AND THE WORLD GOES ROUND, Karen has a personal connection to legendary songwriters John Kander & Fred Ebb (CHICAGO, CABARET, NEW YORK, NEW YORK) and their music. Featuring uniquely show-stopping numbers, the show highlights Mason's vocal prowess, moving charisma and overall versatility.
On Broadway, Karen originated the roles of Tanya in MAMMA MIA!, the Queen of Hearts in WONDERLAND and starred as Norma Desmond in SUNSET BOULEVARD and Thelma VonTussle in HAIRSPRAY. One of the stage's most dynamic and engaging live performers, Karen Mason is also regarded as one of the premier cabaret artists of our time, receiving 13 MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets), including the Lifetime Achievement Award. On TV, Karen recently co-starred with Ewan McGregor in the Emmy Award winning mini-series HALSTON. Karen Mason has graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and London's Royal Albert Hall and now we're thrilled to have her back on the Orinda Theatre stage!
"Fierce emotion...Intense and intimate, she creates a mood of wild expectation! The kind of person you could trust to be a loyal friend. A rarity!" - NY Times
