Jean-Philippe Rameau, Suite en ré Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sonate for piano, KV 310 Johannes Brahms Variations and Fugue on a theme of G.F. Händel, op. 24, 3 Intermezzi, op. 117
The Russian pianist Grigory Sokolov lives for music! Following the example of Richter, his repertoire ranges across all keyboard music, from William Byrd to the present day. After his Brussels recital in December 2010 one Facebook comment read: "A genius, entirely humble, capable of conveying emotion in all its aspects". It is true: no matter what the style, no matter what the period, Sokolov always succeeds in laying bare the essence of the music.
