Transcendence Theatre Company Sets 2016 Broadway Under the Stars Season
Transcendence Theatre Company presents their 2016 Broadway Under the Stars season-spectacular outdoor Broadway concerts in Sonoma Wine Country-running June 17 through September 11 in Jack London State Historic Park (2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen, CA). Transcendence Theatre Company, named by USA Today's 10BEST as the #2 "Outdoor Concert Venue You Shouldn't Miss" in the United States, received twelve 2015 Broadway World San Francisco awards including Best Special Theater Event for the fourth consecutive year.
Transcendence's Broadway Under the Stars is an award-winning series of Broadway-inspired concerts featuring performers from New York and Los Angeles - artists who often come to the Sonoma stage directly from recent Broadway appearances. More than a standard musical revue, each show weaves well-known Broadway and popular songs into a spectacular themed performance in the open-air 150-year-old Winery Ruins at Jack London State Historic Park. All events begin with picnicking amongst the vineyards of Jack London's historic Beauty Ranch Lawn - including gourmet food truck fare, an assortment of local wineries pouring, and pre-show music from local musicians - casting a magical spell of communal festivity and summer celebration. Sunset heralds the start of the show and the stage begins to sparkle as dusk descends and the Broadway stars sing and dance under a starlit nighttime sky.Amy Miller, Artistic Director for Transcendence Theatre Company says: "We are thrilled to present our fifth season of programming to our incredible audiences. A celebration of life and living in the moment with the signature eclectic Transcendence mix of classic Broadway songs and dynamic dance numbers paired with Pop music hits.
An inspirational evening of dream living filled with Broadway, Disney and so much more, this popular family event features a special performance by the kids from Transcendence's Broadway Kids Camp. Dance the Night Away - August 5-6, 12-14, 19-21
Show-stopping dance numbers featuring tap to Fosse and everything in between combined with powerful vocal performances to create a rousing evening of entertainment. Gala Celebration Concert - September 9-11
The climax of the Transcendence season, the gala is a celebration of the highlight moments from the summer's performances plus community tributes and reflections. A fundraiser for Transcendence Theatre Company, the event also includes a silent auction, raffle and more. All Broadway Under the Stars shows are presented at Jack London State Historic Park at 2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen, CA. Pre-show picnics begin at 5:00 pm; Shows commence at 7:30 pm. Tickets to "Broadway Under the Stars" shows range from $37 to $134, with an Early Bird $5 discount extending until May 1st. Special Youth prices available for Fantastical Family Night shows only. Season Flex Passes Available (3-4 shows). $5 of every ticket sold for Broadway Under the Stars shows will benefit Jack London State Historic Park.
