The Empress Theatre Presents KATCHAFIRE Next Month Direct from Hamilton, New Zealand comes reggae band Katchafire to the Empress Theatre as part of their 2018 US Tour. The all Maori reggae band brings their pure classic sound to music lovers worldwide, delivering one of the most authentic reggae shows around today.

The band was originally a family affair, with Grenville Bell and his two sons Logan and Jordan forming the band in the year 2000. It has seen numerous lineup changes due to commitments issues from several members but now includes eight musicians in total. Their first album 'Revival' was releases in 2003 and peaked at #5 in New Zealand, it included three top ten singles, the most successful being 'Giddy Up' which reached #4. All together they have released four highly successful studio albums and have received multiple awards and achieved platinum sales.

Katchafire has toured worldwide building up a loyal following of their reggae sound. A real popular act in neighboring Australia, the band are known for their upbeat live shows and tight musical skill. They have supported other renowned reggae acts including Steel Pulse, Third World, UB40 and Shaggy.

The Empress Theatre is operated and maintained by the Vallejo Community Arts Foundation, Inc, a non-profit public benefit corporation. Built in 1911, the Empress Theatre is a historical landmark located in the heart of downtown Vallejo, California.
