The North American tour of Disney's THE LION KING celebrates the highest weekly domestic gross in its 10 year history, generating $2,100,980.00 at the box office in San Francisco for nine performances the week ending December 30.

This gross also breaks the SHN Orpheum Theatre box office record, for the second time during the San Francisco engagement, for the highest grossing week of a Broadway engagement. This bests the previous SHN Orpheum Theatre record, set by THE LION KING, when the touring production grossed $1,674,059.00 for eight performances the week ending November 25, 2012. Prior to this engagement, which concludes on January 13, the SHN Orpheum Theatre house record had not been broken since January 30, 2010

The North American touring productions of THE LION KING have been seen by more than 14 million theatergoers and grossed over $928 million to date. Having already played more than 70 cities across North America, THE LION KING has proudly returned to San Francisco at the SHN Orpheum Theatre.
