Sonoma State University's 6th Annual Super Mega Molten Hot Lava New Play Festival Set for This Weekend

Sonoma State University's Dept. of Theatre Arts & Dance presents the 6th Annual Super Mega Molten Hot Lava New Play Festival. Curated by Scott Horstein, this annual play festival showcases aspiring playwrights with script-in-hand readings of new short plays and longer works from the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance Playwriting Program.
Last year's "Mega Hot" featured unsettling ghost stories, long walks on the beach, anti-vampire garlic machines, incompetent bank robbers and sharks wielding guns. Who knows what this year's festival will bring? Performances are 7:30 p.m. Today, Nov. 13; Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15 at Studio 76, Ives Hall on the campus of Sonoma State University at 1801 E. Cotati Ave., Rohnert Park, Calif. Evert B. Person Theatre and Ives Hall are accessed through the main entrance to Sonoma State University. VENUES / PARKING: From the South entrance on East Cotati Avenue, turn right at the stop sign in front of the information kiosk. Park in Lots E (left) and F (right). Parking in SSU lots is $5 at all times. Permits may be purchased from the vending machines located at the entrance to parking lots, or at toll booths when available.

The box office is located on the first floor of the Student Center. On performance nights, depending on the venue, the Person Theatre or Ives Hall box office will open 45 minutes prior to the event start time.
