Sonoma State University Department of Theatre Arts & Dance Announces 'The Copeland Creek Project / A Theatrical Journey,' Beginning 4/24
"The Copeland Creek Project / A Theatrical Journey," is a site-specific performance presented along Copeland Creek as it runs through the Sonoma State University campus and at the Environmental Technology Center. Created with the Advanced Acting and Technical students of the Sonoma State University Department of Theatre Arts & Dance, the piece explores the stories past and present of communities along Copeland Creek and how the creek and its communities have shaped each other.
This event commences and concludes at the Environmental Technology Center (located west of SSU campus Lot A) and is presented in part as a walking tour along Copeland Creek. Performances are free and open to the general public and Sonoma State University faculty, staff and students. Reservations are strongly recommended due to limited audience capacity for this site specific performance. Some portions of the performance along the creek require patrons to walk. Limited bench seating at each stop.
Copeland Creek is a nine mile-long creek stream that rises on Sonoma Mountain and reaches the valley floor on the campus of Sonoma State University as it makes on its way to Laguna de Santa Rosa, the largest freshwater wetlands complex on the northern California coast. The Copeland Creek watershed is part
of the Russian River basin, which drains to the Pacific Ocean.

TRANSPORTATION: Transportation from the Environmental Technology Center (located west of SSU campus Lot A) is provided. Last ride leaves promptly at listed performance times. No late comers can be accommodated. Limited capacity for handicapped transportation during along the creek is available and must
be reserved in advance through the Box Office.

PARKING: Use Lot A at the end of West Redwood drive, north of Carson Hall and west of the Art building. Lot A has reserved and disabled parking. Parking permits are required at all times. Permits may be purchased from the vending machines located at the entrance to parking lots. The fee is $5.
