Sierra Rep to Host All-Access Open House, 6/28

By:

Sierra Rep will open its doors for an all-access Open House on Saturday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the East Sonora Theatre.

Visitors are invited to arrive at any time for informal tours and question and answer opportunities with staff and crew. The scene, prop, and costume shops, as well as the Pump Boys and Dinettes stage, will be open for a special behind-the-scenes look at how Sierra Rep creates the many different worlds that comprise its eight-show season.

"We have found that people are fascinated by the work and creativity they get to see close up on these tours," Sierra Rep Managing Director Sara Jones said. "We're also pleased that our fantastic technical staff who usually work behind the scenes get to interact with theatregoers and share their craft."

This year, Sierra Rep celebrates its 35th Anniversary with the launch of its new SRT Jr. youth program and various special opportunities throughout the year. The season, which started with an extremely popular run of LES MISERABLES earlier this year, continues with Pump Boys and Dinettes, playing through July 27 at the East Sonora Theatre, and The Sound of Music, Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical, playing at the Fallon House Theatre July 11 through August 31.

Visitors of Sierra Rep's Open House are encouraged to stay after for the 2 p.m. or 8 p.m. performance of Pump Boys and Dinettes at regular price. Audience members can reserve four special on-stage seats and a delicious pie for just $10 extra per general admission ticket. Regular performances play Wednesdays through Sundays and range from $26 to $32 general admission.

For more information, call Sierra Rep's box office at 209-532-3120 or visit Sierra Rep at www.sierrarep.org.
