Sharon McNight, a singer known for her bawdy songs and Sophie Tucker tribute, plays The Rrazz Room, Hotel Nikko, 222 Mason, SF, in "Twisted Xmas-A Druid's Guide to the Holidays." Performances are at 9:30 PM, Dec 26, and 7:30 PM Dec 27th. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at www.therrazzroom.com or directly through www.ticketweb.com or 866 468 3399.
Sharon's show is a look at the holidays in a slightly non-traditional wacky way. Because McNight has performed in numerous holiday season benefits and has always been counted on to supply the laughs instead of the warm, mushy sentiments, she decided to make an entire evening out of her off the wall approach to the holidays. Get ready such greats as "Santa Lost A Ho," "Carols By The Ol' Corra,l" "The Twelve Days After Christmas," and other songs NOT sung by Andy Williams, Bing Crosby or any gargantuan denominational choir.

Sharon McNight made her Broadway debut in 1989 in Starmites, creating the role of Diva. She received a Tony Award nomination as Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance, and is the recipient of the coveted Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut. She has six solo recordings to her credit, including "Offensive Too, Volume Two" which is the second CD of "Songs To Offend Almost Everyone", a throwback to the party records of the 50's. In contrast is "The Sophie Tucker Songbook", which contains the music of her one- woman show based the show business legend. Sharon played Sister Hubert in Nunsense in San Francisco, where she received the Bay Area Critics Circle Award. She has won six San Francisco Cabaret Gold awards, 3 Cable Car Awards, a MAC award, a Bistro award, and a Nightlife award. Her eclectic repertory ranges from blues to country to good old fashioned entertainment. Ms. McNight received her Masters of Arts degree in direction from San Francisco State College. She is a master teacher on the faculty of the Yale Cabaret Symposium.
