San Francisco Theater Festival Celebrates Live Theater With 140 Performances 7/26
The 6th annual San Francisco Theater Festival, a free one-day massive celebration of live theater with 140 performances, will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2009, 11 - 5 pm, and will feature outdoor performances by cast members of Wicked and Beach Blanket Babylon, hosted by David Alan Grier.
The festival includes diverse performances of comedy, drama, solo, new works, musical, improv, children's fare (all shows are under 30 minutes) on 17 nearby stages. This unique event will take place at the Yerba Buena Cultural Center indoors and outdoors in downtown San Francisco. Venues include: Yerba Buena Gardens, YB Center for the Arts, Zeum, Metreon, the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD), and the new Contemporary Jewish Museum (CJM).
Also featured are Lamplighters Musical Theatre, Charlie Varon, Dan Hoyle, Killing My Lobster, Best of PlayGround, Tanya Shaffer's "Sid Arthur," Ray of Light Theatre, Crowded Fire, Unique Derique, and BATS Improv. For more information: www.SFTheaterFestival.org
