San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus Presents BRASSY AND SASSY ImageToday, San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) Artistic Director Dr. Timothy Seelig and Executive Director Chris Verdugo announced Brassy and Sassy-a brand-new show celebrating the holiday season featuring the 250 men of the chorus and special guest, acclaimed coloratura soprano Marnie Breckenridge-performing at San Francisco's Nourse Theater (275 Hayes Street) on Friday, December 7 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 8 at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets for Brassy and Sassy ($25-110) are on-sale now by visiting www.SFGMC.org or by calling 415-392-4400.

Few performing groups present the full spectrum of holiday revelry better than the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus. Backed by a brilliant brass quintet, the Chorus will dash from glorious classical fare to swing to big band...plus a few new twists on holiday classics. Audiences are invited to sing along to their favorites and delight in the breathtaking sound of men's voices performing everything from "Silver Bells" to "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," as well as a cutting-edge version of "Silent Night."

"Brassy and sassy says it all about this concert," says Seelig. "Accompanied by a fabulous brass quintet, the Chorus will literally romp through 90 minutes of favorites and twists on those favorites. On top of that, we welcome the amazing Marnie Breckenridge to join us in the sublime and the ridiculous. Audiences are encouraged to let their imagination wander as we fill every holiday desire...from classy to sassy and back!"

Adds Verdugo: "Aside from reflecting on our accomplishments of the past year, the holidays are an important time for San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus to bring communities together, embrace our similarities and differences, and build lasting memories. We look forward to celebrating the season and spreading holiday cheer to our friends throughout the San Francisco Bay Area."

In addition to Brassy and Sassy, San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus returns to San Francisco's iconic Castro Theatre (429 Castro St.) for the annual Home for the Holidays concert on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. On Christmas Eve 1990, the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus gathered for the first time at the Castro Theatre to bring the holidays home to those who had none. Thus, began the annual tradition of joining together every Christmas Eve at the Castro Theatre for this night of joyous music and heartwarming festivities. Tickets for Home for the Holidays ($30-40) are available beginning October 29 by visiting www.SFGMC.org or by calling 415-392-4400.

San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus will also be spreading holiday cheer to audiences at two other venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. On Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 7 p.m., the Chorus will perform at Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse (2020 Addison St.) in Berkeley. Tickets for the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse concert are on-sale now at www.thefreight.org. On Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 5 p.m., the Chorus will perform at the Green Music Center in Rohnert Park (1801 E. Cotati Ave.). Tickets for the Green Music Center concert are on-sale now at www.gmc.sonoma.edu/.
