Spring Awakening makes its Monterey County premiere September 8-29 on the mainstage at The Western Stage. With music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, this Broadway musical is "a rock musical for our time." Watch Western Stage's promo for the show below!

The winner of eight Tony Awards, four Drama Desk Awards and four Olivier Awards, Spring Awakening was originally banned from stages all over the world because of its shocking portrayal of the teenage search for meaning in life and stormy struggle with budding sexuality. Please be advised of the show's explicit content. Children's tickets will not be sold.

Directed by Jon Patrick Selover, Western Stage's production features Musical Director Don Dally, Choreography by Joe Niesen, Scenic Design by Theodore Michael Dolas, Light Design by Derek Duarte, Sound Design by Jeff Mockus and Costume Design by Rhonda Kirkpatrick, with Stage Manager Dani Maupin.

The cast includes Nico Abiera, Allyson Bojorques, John G. Bridges, Susanne Burns, Kristen Carder, Sydney Duncheon, Luna Ezekiel, Jennifer Gregoire, Jesse Huston, Christopher Marcos, Ethan McDaniel, Adam Schroeder and Jorge Torrez.
