New Conservatory Theatre Center Presents LIPS TOGETHER, TEETH APART, 6/1-7/1

Lips Together, Teeth Apart by Terrence McNally plays New Conservatory Theatre Center from tomorrow, June 1 through July 1, 2012.

A gay community on Fire Island provides an unlikely backdrop for two straight couples who are observed poolside, staring out to sea. With gay men partying in the houses surrounding them, the four characters divert themselves with food, cocktails, fireworks, charades, and biting jabs at each other. Even the boys next door aren’t safe.

SARAH MITCHELL (Chloe) makes her debut with NCTC in a role and play that she has adored for twenty years. Her recent credits include Shotgun Players’ productions of Beardo, The Norman Conquests, and The Farm, Berkeley Playhouse’s Seussical, Counter Attack with Stagebridge, ...And Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi with Cutting Ball/Playwrights Foundation, and Abraham Lincoln’s Big Gay Dance Party with SF Playhouse. She has been a proud cast member of two BATCC Best Ensemble and Best Production winning shows, and has been a BATCC Featured Actress nominee. She is also a company member Killing My Lobster, SF’s most-lauded sketch comedy group.

MICHAEL SALLY (Sam) has appeared in numerous productions in the Bay Are over the last few years. Most recently in The Government Inspector (Busbarn Stage Company), Social Security (Hillbarn Theatre), Scrooge! (Town Hall Theatre), Blithe Spirit (Palo Alto Players), Separate Tables (Hillbarn), Sylvia (Bus Barn) 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Masquer’s Playhouse) and Alice in Wonderland (Atmostheatre). Other recent appearances include Don’t Dress for Dinner, New Wrinkles, Moonlight and Magnolias, The Underpants, and The Odd Couple. He co-wrote and produced the original musical Type Talking: the Musical, based on the work of Myers-Briggs.

MARIE O’DONNELL (Sally) is thrilled to be back at NCTC and working again with Dennis Lickteig who last directed her in NCTC’s Anita Bryant Died For Your Sins, which won a 2010 BATCC Award. Other roles include Helene Nadler in NCTC’s The New Century, Mrs. Shandig in The Runner Stumbles at the Stillspeaking Theatre and Joyce in Nooner at Jeff Daniels’ Purple Rose Theatre. In New York, she co-wrote and performed in The Kim & Marie Show and was a regular performer on Late Night With David Letterman.

CAMERON WESTON (John) is thrilled to be back at NCTC, having previously appeared in Dirty Blonde and What’s Wrong with Angry? He most recently appeared as Hugh Dorsey in the Palo Alto Players production of Parade, where he also appeared as Officer Lockstock in Urinetown. Other favorite Bay Area roles: Captain Walker in Ray of Light’s The Who’s Tommy (BATCC nomination), Lank Hawkins in Crazy For You and Charlie Davenport in Annie Get Your Gun, both with Broadway By The Bay, Roger in A New Brain, and George W. On Sunday, June 17, 2012. NCTC's OnStage Insight series brings the director and the cast of Lips Together, Teeth Apart back to the stage after the performance to discuss the play and take questions from the audience about the entire creative process. All are welcome.
