The Grand Opening of the Napa Valley Opera House featured Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinafore, a musical as popular today as it was back in 1880. To commemorate the 130th Anniversary of the Opera House, we are pleased to present a concert of the best "G&S" operettas: The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance and of course, HMS Pinafore. This fast-paced performance features the best voices in the Bay Area and is filled with laughter, romance and some of the most memorable music ever written.

The incredibly talented cast is comprised of seven singers hailing from the greater Bay Area, who have appeared in numerous performances, in everything from Beach Blanket Babylon to Beauty and the Beast. Each actor brings a solid repertoire of experience in musical theatre and many have been recognized with awards for their work, including Nephi Speer who received several Shellie Awards for his work in musical productions.

The concert is directed by award-winning director Daren A.C. Carollo, who currently serves as the Artistic Director for Diablo Theatre Company. Carollo has stage directed more than 40 productions in the last eight years, including Assassins (Arty Award for Best Director); Smokey Joe's Cafe for Solano College Theatre; Jekyll & Hyde (East Bay Express, Readers Choice Award), Sweeney Todd, Noises Off, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest and Dracula for Contra Costa Civic Theatre; Five Women Wearing the Same Dress and Lend me a Tenor for Town Hall Theatre Company; Brigadoon in Concert, Peter Pan, Miss Saigon, A Grand Night for Singing and Curtains for Diablo Theatre Company; as well as Diablo Theatre Company's STARS 2000 teen theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof.

Musical Director G. Scott Lacy is one of California's most sought after musical directors, vocal coaches and performers.
