ABOUT THE SEASON

The 2010 - 2011 Pride Season starts in August with Leanne Borghesi in Divalicious, a limited engagement cabaret with the talented virtuoso G. Scott Lacy at the piano. Next up is the west coast premiere of Don't Ask by Bill Quigley, where an affair between a reckless US Army Private and his superior grows perilous in this sexually-charged drama set during the Iraq war. The season continues with the coming of age story and SF premiere of Anita Bryant Died for Your Sins by Brian Christopher Williams, and Pulitzer Prize nominee, A Perfect Ganesh by Terrence McNally. For a dose of naughty and nice, Tom Orr's much anticipated revival of Dirty Little Showtunes is the perfect winter season event. The San Francisco premiere of Treefall by Henry Murray kicks off 2011, followed by Paul Rudnick's comedy Regrets Only. Continuing the season is The Busy World is Hushed, a drama by Keith Bunin, and Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde by Moises Kaufman. The Stops, a musical comedy by Eric Lane Barnes, completes the season.

"Pride 16 at The New Conservatory Theatre is a jam-packed creative meditation on how we navigate in a world that presents relentless challenge," says Artistic Director, Ed Decker. "Whether we are looking back, ahead, or simply around us, the people calling to us from the stage next season are longing to be heard. It's my hope that Pride 16 will inspire the imagination, provoke action, ignite laughter, and provide sanctuary as we gather together in the theatre."
