NCTC's 2010/11 Pride Season In Full-Swing

"Solidly nails the laugh lines" - Bay Area Reporter

It's 1977...There's a global recession, double- digit unemployment, and the fight for equal rights for gay Americans... sound familiar?Fifteen year-old Horace Poore is trying to make sense of the tumultuous events surrounding him -- and the tumultuous events within him.

NCTC YouthAware PERFORMANCES
NOW PLAYING thru OCT 10

And Then They Came for Me is a unique multimedia play that combines videotaped interviews with Holocaust survivors Ed Silverberg and Eva Schloss with live actors recreating scenes from their lives during World War II. Ed was Anne Frank's first boyfriend, and Eva was the same age as Anne and lived in the same apartment building in Amsterdam. On Eva's 15th birthday, her family was arrested by the Nazis and sent to concentration camps. Eva and her mother survived, and after the war her mother married Otto Frank, Anne's father. Part oral history, part dramatic action, part direct address, part remembrance.

COMING SOON!

NOV 5 - DEC 19

Ganesha is the spiritual center around which the play spins itself. The pilgrimage tradition is turned on its head when two outwardly unremarkable, middle-aged lady friends throw themselves into a rousing tour of India, each with her own secret dreams of what the fabled land of intoxicating opposites will do for the suffering she hides within.

FROM OUR FRIENDS AT BERKELEY REP

Berkeley Rep invites friends of NCTC to see Tony and Emmy Award-winner Mandy Patinkin in Compulsion. Patinkin (star of Evita and The Princess Bride) leads a cast of amazing marionettes in an intense new play about a man's journey from passion to compulsion. Now through October 31.
