Marin Shakespeare Company To Hold Auditions For TWELFTH NIGHT And ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE 5/29

Marin Shakespeare Company is holding auditions from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 29 at the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre in San Rafael to cast six teenage girls to play Flower Power Girls in its 2009 summer production of “Twelfth Night, or All You Need is Love.”

The May 29 audition will include a group warm-up, a dance audition and short interview with the choreographer and director.

Flower Power Girls will perform in alternating performances of “Twelfth Night, or All You Need is Love” as assistants to Sri Yogi Maharishi, who performs a wedding ceremony for characters Olivia and Sebastian.

The Flower Power Girls will also help supervise and assist with face painting for Flower Children with cameos in the play.

Rehearsals are Tuesday through Friday July 14 to July 16. Performances are July 17 to Sept. 27 with one to three performances per weekend.

Flower Power Girls are not required to be available for every performance, as only two to four Flower Power Girls will be required at each performance.

This is a volunteer position.

All Flower Power Girls will receive:

Free admission to all “Twelfth Night” performances when not performing

Six complimentary tickets for parents or friends to use at any performance.

Invitation to company parties.

The chance to participate in a fun, celebratory music-filled productions of one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays, with a professional cast, at an unparalleled venue.
