Marin Shakespeare Company Presents A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM as Part of Festival Season
By: Kelsey Denette
Marin Shakespeare Company continues its 2012 summer festival season with "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
Shakespeare at the height of his poetic skill weaves a dream-like story of true love, fairy antics and moonlit lunacy.
Robert Currier directs this outdoor production which transports the action to the romantic shores of mystical Hawaii, where foolish mortals love, play and fight under the gaze of the Tiki gods. The scent of hibiscus and twang of ukuleles will permeate Shakespeare's story of "lunatics, lovers and poets."
Featuring Jarion Monroe * as Bottom, Scott Coopwood * as Oberon, Cat Thompson * as Titania, James Hiser * as Puck and Stephen Muterspaugh * as Quince.
The cast also features Damien Seperi as Theseus, Sylvia Burboeck as Hippolyta, Jack Halton as Egeus, Jessica Salans as Hermia, Luisa Frasconi as Helena, Brandon Mears as Lysander, Evan Bartz as Demetrius, Alexander Lenarsky as Flute, Amy Lizardo as Starveling and Jai Sahai as Sung.
