KILLING MY LOBSTER LEARNS A LESSON Comes to Stage Werx Theatre, 5/30-6/9

By:

Killing My Lobster Learns A Lesson, comedic vignettes for the avid achievers, will run May 30 - June 9 (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm; Sundays at 7pm).

Lessons aren't just for school teachers to teach. They're also fodder for sketch comedians. KML teaches you a thing or two this spring as they examine everything from the beginnings of schooling, to table manners and good ole "talks with Pops." Having wised up these past 15 years, local sketch comedy legends Killing My Lobster will pay tribute to the life lessons learned (and unlearned...or never learned) from May 30 - June 9, 2013 at Stage Werx Theatre. Grab your sharpest #2 pencil as KML "Learns a Lesson"!

But, what does a sketch comedy show about learning a lesson look like?

KML throws the textbook out the window this spring when Bay Area's finest comedic voices gather yet again to create another original sketch comedy show. KML brings you First University where Socrates educates Bradius and Chadacles on "brotherly love" and the origins of the fraternity. And every SF audience member will love Republican Senators Learn to Read as it depicts Republican Senators learning to read words like "compromise", "Che Guevara" and "gay".

From the Saved By The Bell jingle to The Breakfast Club soundtrack, an education-themed show demands the epic anthems that capture the drama and comedy of high school life. So, KML couldn't learn a lesson without the musical talents of DJ Hesh Beats who will give the show a soundtrack of its own. Check out his tracks at https://soundcloud.com/heshbeats.

KML aims to educate its audiences by partnering with the SF Food Bank and spotlighting their amazing community service. KML will host a beneficiary night on Friday, June 7th where $5 of every $25 ticket purchased will be donated to the SF Food Bank.

Each KML sketch show is developed around a theme, like espionage (KML Goes Undercover), the looming Apocalypse (KML Does Not Fear the End), and its San Francisco city home (KML Takes it to the Streets). KML sketch comedy shows incorporate live music, original comedic shorts, and live sketches that speak to the show's theme.

See you after class at Killing My Lobster Learns A Lesson!

Killing My Lobster Learns A Lesson, directed by Jon Barcellos, starring Molly Benson, Jan Gilbert, Matt Gunnison, Meghann Hayes, Anthony Tupasi, and Ben Euphrat, runs May 30 - June 9 (Thurs, Fris & Sats at 8pm; Suns at 7pm) at the Stage Werx Theatre, 446 Valencia Street (at 16th). Tickets available now at www.killingmylobster.com.
