Due to unforeseen circumstances, Hanoman The Musical will not be performing at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts on the originally scheduled dates of June 25-27, 2013.

According to the producer and director, Mirwan Suwarso, the show has been postponed to November 6-8, 2013.

Hanoman The Musical features a diverse cast of local and international performers including: Sydney James Harcourt (The Lion King), Daniel Torres (Evita) and Laura Vall (of the alternative rock band, The Controversy). With a score by Indonesian composer Aksan Sjuman, Hanoman The Musical includes a 22-piece rock infused orchestra with an underlying Javanese gamelan tone. This show is a culturally infused production filled with stories of epic heroism, dragons, demons and giants that utilizes live theater, film, wayang kulit (traditional Indonesian shadow puppetry) and martial arts to tell this epic story.

The creative team for Hanoman The Musical includes choreographers Yudhi Bharata and Mari Sutalaksana, musical director Aksan Sjuman, fight and stunt choreographer Benjamin Rowe and lighting designer Donie Birkud.

MIRWAN SUWARSO is the director and producer of Hanoman The Musical and the founder of Tales of Heroes, a Production Company that creates a series of exciting, action packed musicals that combine film, live theater, wayang kulit (traditional Indonesian shadow puppets), martial arts and a rock infused orchestra. Aside from Hanoman The Musical, previous Tales of Heroes productions include Gatotkaca- The Beginning and Arjuna Wiwaha.
