Following Election Results, San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus Alters Tour to Visit Conservative States
According to ABC 7 News, in response to the recent Presidential election results, the San Francisco has altered their upcoming tour route to forego international travel in favor of visiting conservative US states and areas that face significant discrimination.
The chorus' director Tim Seelig said that the election made many of the members realize that they have just as much work to do around the country as they do overseas. The tour is set to launch in 2018, shortly before midterm elections, which many who fear a Donald Trump presidency feel will be critical in maintaining the decades of social progress that Trump's campaign platform has threatened. The group plans to use their music as a form of activism and a way to help bring peace to the many groups who fear their rights are in jeopardy.
