Hotel Nikko San Francisco and Michael Feinstein are proud to welcome singer-songwriter-pianist Spencer Day to the all-new Feinstein's at the Nikko for three performances only - May 23, 24 and 25, 2013. Day will perform tracks off his recently-released album, The Mystery of You, as well as selections from his previous albums. Tickets range in price from $55 - $75 and are on-sale now and available by calling 855.MF.NIKKO (855.636.4556) or visiting www.ticketweb.com.

Day has been a perennial favorite in the San Francisco Bay Area since exploding on to the music scene as a performer at the 2007 San Francisco Jazz Festival. Since then, he has performed at some of the nation's most prominent venues, including Joe's Pub and Town Hall in New York City and Yoshi's and the Great American Musical Hall in the San Francisco Bay Area. Day has headlined at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., The Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, and the Dakota in Minneapolis. Recently, Day opened for Rufus Wainwright at the Napa Valley Opera House and has appeared at the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, by the invitation of Jazz legend Marian McPartland in celebration of her 90th birthday. Day's creativity also includes composing musical theater. In 2005, he collaborated with Rafe Chase on a full-length musical, "Someday, Love," which was performed at San Francisco's New Conservatory Theater. Spencer starred in the show in addition to writing its score.

Day has earned rave reviews throughout the United States, as well as overseas, for his easy-listening voice, versatile piano playing, unpretentious original compositions and charming personality. His 2004 debut album, Introducing Spencer Day, was primarily a collection of standards, but the title track from Movie of Your Life, released the following year, won the San Francisco Academy of Art University's 2005 competition for best original song. The resulting video was selected by Dolby Laboratories as a demonstration video for the global launch of the Dolby 7.1 system. Vagabond, released in 2009, was a musical hybrid that drew from the Great American Songbook, but also maintained an alternate aesthetic that sidestepped easy categorization by borrowing from influences like Burt Bacharach, Roy Orbison and Dusty Springfield. His latest release, The Mystery of You (2013), also draws from a range of sources but is Day's most personal album. Filled with stylistic nuances that range from smoky noir and Latin jazz to surf guitar and Middle Eastern and Asian melodies, the album tracks the sometimes exhilarating, sometimes harrowing arc of a romantic relationship from passionate beginning to painful demise and onto enlightened aftermath.
