Emmy Winner Travis Wall Brings New Show to Bay Area 3/22

Travis Wall. the Emmy Award winning choreographer ('So You Think You Can Dance') and BREAK THE FLOOR PRODUCTIONS have announced national tour dates for the second show by America's hottest Dance Company, Travis Wall's SHAPING SOUND After The Curtain. This groundbreaking live performance will come to the Bay Area for one appearance only: 7:30pm,March 22, at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, 255 S. Casting for the tour was announced this week during yesterday's appearance on NBC's 'The Ellen Show' (the company's third appearance on 'Ellen'). Starring in SHAPING SOUND After The Curtain will be Travis Wall, joined by SHAPING SOUND founding partners TEDDY FORANCE and NICK LAZZARNI (a Bay Area native, from Los Altos). The all-star cast will also include "So You Think You Can Dance' 2015 Winner and overall fan favorite from GABY DIAZ, as well as Santa Cruz native CHANTEL AGUIRRE, of 'SYTYCD' and 'Dancing with the Stars,' and SHAPING SOUND alumni and favorites RORY FREEMAN, KATE HARPOOTLIAN, Lindsay Leuschner and CHELSEA THEDINGA. New to the tour are: Denver native MASON CUTLER, who has worked with music artists Taylor Swift, Chris Brown and Demi Lovato; Dallas'Austin Goodwin, who performed on Broadway in Bartlett Sher's production of Fiddler On The Roof and in New York's off-Broadway hit Sleep No More; and Lex Ishimoto from Irvine, CA, who starred in the first and second national tours of Billy Elliot.

After The Curtain is the second show for the electrifying Dance Company, following on the heels of the spell-binding Dance Reimagined which toured North America for four years. Conceived and choreographed by Travis Wall, After The Curtain tells the story of a man fighting to find his creative voice after the death of his one true love. Heart-wrenching, breathtaking, and ultimately uplifting, this is one dance show that audiences will remember forever.

SHAPING SOUND was established in Los Angeles in 2012 with a focus on contemporary dance and choreographic artistry. Created by the 2015 Emmy Award winner (and six-time Emmy Award nominee) for Outstanding Choreography Travis Wall, along with partners NICK LAZZARINI, TEDDY FORANCE and Kyle Robinson, the company is an evocative collaboration by diverse artists who describe themselves as 'visual musicians' i.e. their dance gives shape and form to sound. SHAPING SOUND has impacted audiences with a unique fusion of jazz, modern and hip-hop choreography. The four young dancers broke into public awareness with the debut of their reality television series All The Right Moves on the Oxygen channel which followed them in their quest to launch the Dance Company. Since that time they have been showcased on all of America's popular prime time dance, awards, entertainment and music shows, including: So You Think You Can Dance,Dancing With The Stars, Glee and The 2013 Prime Time Emmy Awards. They were featured in Carrie Underwood's Grammy Award-winning music video Something In The Water, and they are frequent guests on The Ellen Show.

Travis Wall, Artistic Director, is the winner of the 2015 Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography. He was the runner-up for the Fox reality show So You Think You Can Dance Season 2, and is currently a resident choreographer for the national dance competition show. He is a five-time Emmy nominated choreographer for his work on So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars. He choreographed the music video for Carrie Underwood's "Something In The Water", which won the CMT Video of the Year, as well as stage shows for Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato. Additional TV credits include choreographing the 82nd Academy Awards, Disneyland's 60th Anniversary Special on ABC, the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and an episode of Pretty Little Liars featuring Maddie Ziegler. Feature Film credits include choreography for The Wedding Ringer starring Kevin Hart and the contemporary numbers for the feature film Step Up Revolution. He had the privilege of working with First Lady, Michelle Obama on her Let's Move Campaign where he created the GimmeFive routine that was performed on Ellen and at The White House.
