EXIT Theatre Heats Up With BURLESQUE EXTRAVAGANZA

EXIT Theatre proudly presents our first annual Burlesque Extravaganza, four unique evenings featuring some of the Bay Area's most treasured performers. Thanks to the respective successes of our previous full-length Burlesque cabaret shows - Rebel Without a Bra, At the White Rabbit Burlesque, Hotel Burlesque, and Just Another Zombie Holiday Show; as well as our monthly burlesque showcase, DIVA or Die Burlesque - EXIT Theatre is becoming a recognized home of Burlesque in the Bay Area. We're thrilled to share this amazing line-up of beauty, talent, and sequined hotness to shake you out of the mid-winter doldrums, and extend your Valentine's Day celebrations by a whole extra week. Our featured acts include a titillating Sing and Strip hosted by the tasty Red Velvet, Seven Deadly and Other Sins with Magnoliah Black as MC, How Lovely to be a Woman, a one-woman show featuring DeeDee Queen, and our outrageous Burlesque Improv Night with If 'N' Whendy and a bevy of buxom babes.

Festival Curator, Red Velvet:

Red Velvet, a life-long dancer, has performed extensively in musical theatre, performed throughout California, has studied and performed dance in New York, and has toured internationally. She co-produces a monthly show, DIVA or Die Burlesque, and is artistic director of the cancan troupe, The Velvettes. She's performed with the award-winning Hot Pink Feathers, award-winning Flaunt Follies, Bombshell Betty's Burlesqueteers, Alegria Samba Dance Company and was artistic director for the dance group Pretty, Pretty Please. She's performed at burlesque festivals throughout the U.S. and internationally. She won Most Classic at the Great Burlesque Exposition in 2016 and Most Humorous in 2014. She co-created four full-length burlesque /cabaret /theater productions: Rebel Without a Bra, At the White Rabbit Burlesque, Hotel Burlesque, and Just Another Zombie Holiday Show. She loves bringing her crazy ideas on stage for your enjoyment. Come and try a slice of Red Velvet!

MC, Seven Deadly and Other Sins, Magnolia Black:

This kinky, ecstatic, art activist and performer can be found lighting up Bay Area stages with Bad Influence Burlesque, Hubba Hubba Revue, Bad Influence Burlesque, Debauchery, Fishnet Follies, the Body Political and Rebel Kings of Oakland. She's sass, class and a touch of crass: the Bay Area's own Deviant Debutante.

Solo Performer, DeeDee Queen:

DeeDee Queen is a drag queen trapped in a cis-woman's body - a performing woman who is performing "woman." She's a burlesque, pole, and drag artist who teaches burlesque and storytelling. She co-produces Curtains Cabaret, a theatrical burlesque company in Redwood City, as well as produces Nearly Naked Broadway, a Broadway burlesque revue. She teaches theatre in San Jose and is performing in several musicals in 2018. DeeDee has been seen at the California Burlypicks (2016/17), Hawaii Burlesque Festival (2016/17), Vermont Burlesque Festival (2017), Great Burlesque Expo (2017), Freezing Tassel in Alaska (2017), Philadelphia Burlesque Festival (2017), Hollywood Burlesque Festival (2017), Oregon Burlesque Festival (2017), Hawaii Burlesque Festival (2017), the Amsterdam Burlesque Awards (2017), and Feinstein's/54 Below in NYC (2016/17).

MC, Burlesque Improv Night, If 'N' Whendy:

"The Queen of Face"! is a performer, MC and Producer in San Francisco and has been taking off her clothes in public (with varying degrees of security being called) since 2009. She's danced at Hubba Hubba Revue, Tiki Oasis, Lagunitas Beer Circus, with Los Shimmy Shakers at Viva Las Vegas and she's the cover model for the Burlesque Coloring Book! She's co-Artistic Director of DIVA or Die Burlesque & a member of The Devil-Ettes, San Francisco's 1960's Go-Go dance troupe (code name: The Wild One). She enjoys vodka, cats, fake blood & real laughs.
