The heroine's journey is full of demons and doubts. This one happens to include a strip club that helps a young woman survive as she sets out to create a life separate of society's rules.

In DIRTY ME DIVINE, Christina struggles between the voice of the Good Girl and the call of the Rebel Dreamer within. As she travels the seedy land of Hollywood in search of her Artist, Christina encounters the lure of men and money along the way. What does it mean to be a woman in a patriarchal society? Embodying 11 different characters, Christina explores this question while battling shame around her choice to strip. Heart-breaking, hilarious, and meaningful, Christina shatters labels and rules as she navigates the desire to be a hot and holy female on her own terms. Personal, yet universal, moving and brave, this story dares to share all parts of woman-the sexy, the innocent, the powerful, the dirty and the divine.

DIRTY ME DIVINE is an autobiographical one-woman show written and performed by Christina Dunbar. It is a sexy, raw ride that showcases the struggle between the Nice Jewish Good Girl and the Badass Rebel Rouser within.

"I was afraid of being seen and rejected. I thought I was somehow wrong. And 'bad'. I wanted to be a performer and artist but I got into stripping and ended up staying stuck in that industry," said Dirty MeDivine writer, producer and performer Christina Dunbar. "When I started to get physically sick from dancing, I knew I had to look within to heal. I learned about cultural conditioning and how that affected my self-esteem. Through the lens of patriarchy I saw myself as a 'Good Girl' who should just please others (especially men). I began to explore my own confusing beliefs about my body, my erotic power, and my right to be heard."

DIRTY ME DIVINE is playing Friday, May 20, 2016 for one show only at the Stage Werx Theatre, 446 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94103. Tickets are $40 (plus fees) in advance, $45 (plus fees) day of show, $35 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are on sale now at www.dirtymedivine.com.
