Amaluna by Cirque du Soleil and Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream have joined forces to create Tempest - a one-of-a-kind limited edition ice cream flavor to be sold at Humphry Slocombe during the San Francisco engagement of Amaluna by Cirque du Soleil - November 13 - December 31, 2013 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. A crème fraîche ice cream with blueberry compote swirls, Tempest pays homage to the story ofAmaluna, which puts a female twist on William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Tempest will be available in-store at Humphry Slocombe (2790 Harrison Street, San Francisco) beginning November 13, 2013 (while supplies last).

Says Jamie Reilly, Company Manager for Amaluna: "Cirque du Soleil and Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream are both known internationally for their originality. Tempest is the perfect marriage of these two creative worlds. Everyone at Amaluna is thrilled to be represented as an ice cream flavor!"

"The idea of doing a swirled ice cream came to me naturally," said Jake Godby, founder of Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream. "The images of the performers' graceful athleticism in addition to the show's blue color palate led me to something that was strong and smooth and sweet and tart: crème fraîche-blueberry swirl."

ABOUT AMALUNA: Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon. Amaluna is a fusion of the words ama, which refers to "mother" in many languages, and luna, which means "moon," a symbol of femininity that evokes both the mother-daughter relationship and the idea of goddess and protector of the planet. Amaluna is also the name of the mysterious island where the story unfolds.
