'Celtic Woman' Serenades The Orpheum, SF May 1-4
As the third concert of the newly formed relationship between SHN and Pacific Arts, Celtic Woman: A New Journey, will be presenTed May 1 - 4, 2008 at the Orpheum Theatre.
"Celtic Woman has been winning over audiences worldwide with their heavenly renditions of Irish standards, classical favorites and contemporary hits. Their popularity in the U.S. is thanks in part to their first PBS special in March 2005, which has aired over 3400 times on 316 PBS stations to date," state press notes, "Since then, they've been seen by millions on subsequent PBS specials, the blockbuster Celtic Woman -A New Journey, filmed live from Slane Castle in Ireland and most recently, A Christmas Celebration: Live From Dublin. 2008 marks their seventh U.S. tour since the release of Celtic Woman (Manhattan Records/Blue Note Label Group), their platinum CD and DVD debut."
Performances are Thursday May 1 at 8PM; Friday May 2 at 8PM; Saturday May 3 at 8PM and Sunday May 4 at 3PM.
Beginning February 10, tickets for Celtic Woman will range in price from $38 to $80 and will be available for purchase online at shnsf.com, through Ticketmaster by calling (415) 512-7770, at ticketmaster.com and at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers. Beginning Monday, February 11, tickets will also be available at the Orpheum Theatre Box Office (1192 Market at 8th St., M-S, 10am - 6pm).
