Curtain Call Performing Arts (CCPA), opens its fifth season with "A Broadway Holiday," featuring Cantare! Community Chorus November 30 – December 9.

Cantare! specializes in performing new musical theatre with their repertoire drawing from unexpected shows beyond the "MTI canon" while still retaining the charm, wit, depth, and emotion associated with Broadway's most beloved musicals. The chorus brings a new dimension of storytelling to more diverse audiences, and offers a fresh take on showmanship to veterans of the stage. "A Broadway Holiday" will feature favorites of the season, and works from popular Broadway shows like Les Miserables and Ragtime.

Under new direction for 2012/2013, Evan Alprone joins Cantare! as director. Evan, a conductor, accompanist, and teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduated from the Ray Bolger Musical Theater Program in UCLA's School of Theater Film and Television in 2006 and has worked on over 35 musicals as an accompanist and music director. Recently he has worked with TriValley Repertory Theater, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Boxcar Theater, and the Douglas Morrison Theater. From 2007-2010 Evan was the Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward. He also has served as the Associate Conductor for the East Bay Oratorio Society at California State University, East Bay for several years. Additionally, Evan accompanies workshops, recitals, and concerts around the Bay Area and currently serves as the music director at El Cerrito United Methodist Church and is a guest artist in Redwood High School's theater company, EPiC in Larkspur, CA.

"Cantare! returns in a major way kicking off our season with a mix of holiday favorites and new Broadway hits. I cannot wait for our season ticket holders and patrons to see and hear the talented combination of returning and new singers that make up Cantare!," said Andrea Gorham, Curtain Call's Founding Artistic Director.

Cantare! delighted audiences last season with the first installment of "A Broadway Holiday," and has become a hip and stylish performance ensemble for CCPA. The choir will perform at the newly refurbished California Conservatory Theatre (CCT) in downtown San Leandro. As the first phase of a multi-thousand dollar refurbishment project, CCPA has brought life to the theatre known as the "biggest little theatre in the Bay Area," as CCT now has a fresh coat of paint, remodeled lobby, new stage, and updated dressing rooms.

The 2012/2013 season, marks CCPA's fifth season and includes six (6) productions featuring musicals, stage plays, and choral concerts with performances at CCT and San Leandro Performing Arts Center. Cantare!, presents "A Broadway Holiday," runs Nov. 30-Dec. 9.
