Broadway Meets Napa with the Debut of BROADWAY AT THE VISTA
This Fall, Vista Collina Resort and Festival Napa Valley have come together to debut Broadway at the Vista in Napa Valley on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at 6:30pm.
The evening will feature the best of both coasts with fine wine, culinary and theater arts. Emmy winner, Lance Horne (Alan Cumming, Jake Shears, ) will music direct the evening featuring performances by Kyle Barisich, Phantom Of The Opera 25th Anniversary Broadway production, and Betsy Struxness, original cast member of Broadway's Hamilton.
The elegant evening will pair an artistically-inspired, four-course menu helmed by Executive Chef Vincent Lesage with aged Verona vintages by leading winemaker, Armando Fumanelli, proprietor of Marchesi Fumanelli Winery set in the resort's stunning Vintner's Room with exposed brick and candle accents. Lance Horne composes works for the stage and has performed around the world with Alan Cumming, Margaret Cho, Kylie Minogue, Chita Rivera, Ricki Lake, Liza Minelli, The Von Trapps, Neil Gaiman, Amanda Palmer Sesame Street The Gatlin Brothers, and Carol Channing. With Cumming, Horne created Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs, playing this season on PBS Great Performances after a sold-out night at Carnegie Hall, runs at Adelaide Cabaret Festival (Helpmann Award Nomination), Edinburgh International Festival, London Palladium, LA Disney Hall, and Kennedy Center.
Horne's theater credits include vocal arrangements for Little Women on Broadway, original music for Bent at Mark Taper Forum. TV: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades (NBC), The Ricki Lake Show (FOX), One Life to Live (ABC). Vegas! The Show in its 7th year at Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip. Performances at Pina Bausch Tanzfestival and with Kristin Chenoweth for President Obama, the First Lady, and Queen Elizabeth. A native of Los Gatos, California, Kyle Barisich is best known for playing the role of Raoul in the 25th Anniversary Broadway cast of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and was the first actor of Hispanic heritage to do so. He also played the role for the LA and San Francisco engagements of the long-running national tour. Favorite regional credits include SOUTH PACIFIC at the Hollywood Bowl, Barrett in TITANIC, Marvin in FALSETTOS and Perón in EVITA. Kyle co-created the lounge act parody A TOUCH OF VEGAS, which has played to sold-out crowds on both coasts and is currently in development as a series. Kyle often performs the audience warm-up for 'LIVE! with Kelly and Ryan,' and for two seasons he co-starred on TV's The Following (FOX). Betsy Struxness is an artist based in New York City. After graduating with a BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School, Betsy has gone on to all sorts of performing adventures from cruise ships to voiceovers, Broadway to TV, you name it.
On Broadway, Betsy made her debut with Wicked, and then very quickly joined the cast of Memphis right before its run into the Tonys. Her first originating experience was with Leap of Faith, to be joined in swift succession by Scandalous and Matilda.
Her biggest honor to date though has been bringing the smash hit Hamilton from the workshop to off-Broadway to Broadway as one of the original cast members. Other credits include: Theater: Shakespeare in Love (Viola)-Virginia Rep; Wicked (ensemble, Nessarose u/s)-Chicago & San Francisco; All Shook Up (ensemble, Sandra & Natalie u/s)-1st National Tour; TV: Onion News Network, Broad City and Louie; Voiceovers: Checkers, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Century Link, Shell, Geico, Stolichnaya, GoGurt.
