Broadway By The Bay, the Peninsula's premier musical theatre company, today announced its 2012 season, the second year of performances at its new home, the historic Fox Theatre in Redwood City. The season will feature three full-scale productions as well as the return of the hit Broadway By The Year® series. Season subscriptions (4 shows) range in price from $85 - $175 and are available now by calling 650-579-5565. Single tickets go on sale February 2012.

Broadway By The Bay also announces the appointment of their new Artistic Director, Amanda Folena, who will be joining the company fresh off of directing the upcoming production of Gypsy. Folena will be taking over from Brooke Knight, who is retiring at the end of the current season after 18 years. "Brooke has had a wonderful run here at Broadway By the Bay and we will all miss her. We are very excited about Amanda coming on board for our 2012 season," says Executive Director Jim Gardia. "She is tremendously talented and will be a huge asset to Broadway By The Bay."

Folena comes to Broadway By The Bay from City Lights Theater Company, where she is the Casting Director and Company Manager. She has an MFA in Acting from Purdue University, and special honors include the Jack Nicholson Award for Best Actress, the USC Dance Award for Best Choreography and the National Irene Ryan Award for Acting at the Kennedy Center ACTF National Competition. A South Bay native, Amanda has acting, directing and choreography credits with Bay Area companies such as San Jose Repertory Company, Opera San Jose, Diablo Theatre Company, California Theatre Center and Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa.

Broadway By The Bay's 2012 season kicks off with the hilariously entertaining, Tony-winning Broadway musical Hairspray (April 5 - 22). Next, Broadway By The Bay presents the hit off-Broadway musical The Marvelous Wonderettes (July 12 - 29), followed by A Chorus Line (September 20 - October 7), the longest running American Broadway musical of all time. The 2012 season closes with the return of Broadway By The Year (November 8 - 11) a musical and historical snapshot of The Great White Way. The 2012 series will highlight songs from Broadway shows of 1965 (Man of La Mancha, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever) and 1997 (The Lion King, Jekyll and Hyde, Titanic). Hosted by creator Scott Siegel and featuring Broadway performers direct from New York, the show is sure to delight audiences with its well-loved songs.

Each production will play at the 1400-seat Fox Theatre. Located in the heart of downtown Redwood City, the historic theatre is located in close proximity to a wide selection of popular restaurants and bars, as well as several nearby public parking areas, making it convenient for theatergoers to enjoy pre-show dining or post-show libations.

Season subscriptions (4 shows) range in price from $85 - $175 and are available now by calling 650-579-5565. Single tickets go on sale February 2012.
