BUDDHA: A FANTASTIC JOURNEY Extends Through 4/1

The Bootleg Theater has added performances to the weekly schedule of Buddha – A Fantastic Journey and extended through April 1.

The West Coast premiere of writer/performer Evan Brenner's critically-acclaimed one-man play, now under the direction of John C. Reilly, enacts the extraordinary life of the Buddha entirely from the original texts. It's no dry tale – the Buddha's life stands among the great archetypal adventure stories. The original music is composed and performed live by Sheela s Bringi and Jaeger Smith, and set and lighting design are by multiple award-winner François-Pierre Couture

The Los Angeles Times writes, "Full of boisterous inner fury… Brenner possesses remarkable poise. He delivers the material as though floating on an invisible cloud." The LA Weekly says "GO! An entertaining and, yes, enlightening 70 minutes." Agrees Buzzine, "Wonderfully entertaining, and a subject for introspection and conversation… if you haven't achieved 'nirvana,' you can -- at the Bootleg Theater."

Buddha – A Fantastic Journey continues through April 1 on Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30 pm (please note early curtain time), except March 23 and 24 which are dark. Added performances include 3 pm matinees on Saturdays February 25, March 3 and March 31 and on Sundays March 4, 11, 18 and April 1; and two Thursday evening performances on March 8 and March 15, both @ 7:30 pm.
