Avenue Q Comes To Unity In San Luis Obispo 1/13-2/4

Avenue Q is on stage January 13 - February 4 at Unity (1490 Southwood Drive in San Luis Obispo). Avenue Q garnered three Tony Awards in 2004 for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book of a Musical.

Avenue Q is presented as part of Kelrik's After Dark series. Due to the show's adult subject matter it is required that audience members under the age of 17 bring a parent or guardian with them to the performance.

About the show: "This funny and irreverent show conveys life's tough lessons through the trials and tribulations of Princeton, a bright-eyed college graduate, who is anxious to discover his purpose in life, but first, he must find an apartment and a job, with no work experience -- just like the other characters living on Avenue Q: Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy The Slut (need we say more?)."

ABOUT THE MUSICAL:
Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart! Avenue Q opened Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre in March 2003, where it gained rave reviews and was extended four times. It won the 2003 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding New Musical, as well as a nomination for the 2003 Outer Critics Circle Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical award. It began previews at the Golden Theatre on July 11th, 2003, with a July 31, 2003 opening. Avenue Q played its final Broadway performance on September 13, 2009.
