All About Theatre's SHREK Opens 5/16
Artistic Director and All about Theatre (AAT) announce a hilarious new production of SHREK THE MUSICAL. SHREK THE MUSICAL opens on Friday, May 17, 2014 at the Louden Nelson Center Auditorium (301 Center St. Santa Cruz, CA)
SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar winning Dreamworks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of Shrek, everyone's favorite ogre and our unlikely hero and Donkey, his loveable and annoying royal steed as they set off on a quest to rescue the feisty Princess Fiona from her tower. Along the way they meet a fire breathing lovesick dragon, the diminutive Lord Farquad and a gang of fairy tale misfits. A slightly fractured fairy tale with loads of laughs and lots of heart, Shrek is big-sized fun for all ages. With a lively score and upbeat story, this award-winning musical will leave you feeling lighthearted long after the silliness ends.
With book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, and music by Jeanine Tesori SHREK THE MUSICAL is full of all-new songs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery. It is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun!
