A.C.T Announces 72-hour 10UP Sale For BRIEF ENCOUNTER 8/26-8/28

By:

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announces a 72-hour 10UP sale, providing world-class theater to the Bay Area community at happy hour prices for their acclaimed season opener event, the U.S. premiere of Noël Coward's Brief Encounter. Specially priced $10 second balcony tickets are available to the first 10 performances of Brief Encounter during the 72-hour sale, Wednesday, August 26, through Friday, August 28. Along with the discounted ticket price, for those 10 performances A.C.T.'s beautiful Sky Bar will open one hour before curtain with happy hour drink discounts on signature cocktails, beer, and wine, making Brief Encounter the most affordable and fun entertainment option in the Bay Area. For more information and to purchase 10UP tickets, please visit www.act-sf.org/10up.

"Brief Encounter is an amazing, limited-engagement show and we want to make sure that everyone in the Bay Area has the opportunity to experience this treat," says Janette Andrawes, A.C.T. Director of Marketing and Public Relations. "This is, without a doubt, the best and most affordable night out in San Francisco. Come early for happy hour cocktails and enjoy this hopelessly romantic and funny play at recession-proof prices."

A.C.T. and Kneehigh Theatre present the U.S. premiere of the runaway U.K. hit, Noël Coward's Brief Encounter, directed and adapted for the stage by Emma Rice from the words and music of Coward. This must-see limited engagement transforms an iconic love story into a jaw-dropping fusion of theater, film, and music. Ingeniously crafted with whimsical humor, dreamy romance, and stunning multimedia effects, Brief Encounter was hailed by critics as "a first-class return to romance" (Daily Telegraph) and "an imaginative feast" (Daily Express). Brief Encounter plays at A.C.T. September 11-October 4, 2009. 10UP tickets are available for all performances through September 20.
