A Taste of Broadway Comes to Broadway By the Bay's First Annual Gala

Broadway By the Bay (BBBay) has been delivering professional, high-quality musicals to the community for the past 52 years. BBBay's productions feature the Bay Area's finest local talent who generously donate their time and creativity for these shows. Past musicals include CATS, My Fair Lady, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, West Side Story, The Producers, and Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

BBBay provided over 22 scholarships to children that would not have been able to participate in the Theatre Arts Academy this summer, which offers both two-week and three-week programs. BBBay is the heart of community theatre and recently provided several artists to perform live at the San Mateo County Pride Center's Grand Opening on June 1, 2017. BBBay is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is launching this red-carpet themed fundraiser in order to continue its mission for years to come.

The "Taste of Broadway" red carpet event will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm at the Fox Theatre located at 2215 Broadway, Redwood City, CA. The event will feature tastings through the generosity of local restaurants and businesses such as Old Spaghetti Factory, Crouching Tiger, Portobello Grill, Crystal Springs Catering and many more. There will be various performances throughout the evening by BBBay's own artists, live and silent auctions, and the reveal of BBBay's 2018 season. The live auction will be led by Frank Bizzaro of Redwood City. To conclude the evening, there will be a concert performed by The Jack Mosbacher Band. Jack Mosbacher, the main headliner, is giving back to the venue that fueled his musical career. Jack performed in BBBay's productions of CATS, Cabaret, and Guys and Dolls before starting his band. The San Francisco Chronicle states "Jack Mosbacher is a star on the rise." Jack Mosbacher is an independent recording and performing artist based in San Francisco. Noted for his high-energy live shows and upbeat tunes that celebrate life and love, Jack has been called "a joyful, exuberant take on the best of pop" by Skope Media and "a great example of how supreme musicianship and composition come together to create an experience that all music fans can - and will - enjoy" by IAE Magazine.
